Heterodox Economics Working Group

The Heterodox Economics Working Group (HEWG) is an effort to slowly help develop a Pakistani community of economic heterodoxy, something I feel is sorely needed:

So let this be a call to action and invitation for conversation and cooperation to all fellow proponents of economic heterodoxy. We are scattered on the intellectual battlefield, isolated and vulnerable when what we need to do is to stick together. Now is as good a time as ever to start.

Wanted: A Pakistani Community of Economic Heterodoxy (in Discourse)

The group is still at a very nascent stage so if you have any ideas about how it can develop and if you’d like to be involved, please do be in touch through the group’s website.

There is a real sense of hope among us that an alternative economics is not just possible but necessary, that there are real alternatives to the dread and despair of capitalism. … The future of economics will be shaped far more by our heresies than the inane litanies of the high priests. Onwards.
